BGIcon – Final Details!

Hi everyone!

We’re almost there. BGIcon, our first game convention is almost upon us. It takes place this Saturday the 5th of August and I hope to see lots of you there as it’s sure to be a great day.

So this post is just to go over the details of the convention.

Getting there:

It’s on in the Teachers’ Club on Parnell Square. This is their website: http://www.clubnamuinteoiri.com/

And you can find them on google maps here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/36+Parnell+Square+W,+Rotunda,+Dublin+1,+D01+T6V6,+Ireland/@53.353094,-6.265159,16z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x48670e811ebe60bf:0x83d2a8f1c058ec10!8m2!3d53.3530938!4d-6.2651588?hl=en-US

There are currently major traffic diversions on in the city centre due to Luas Cross City road works. So please keep that in mind when planning your commute.

The convention starts at 11am and we’ll be running until very late.

When you come into the Teachers’ Club you’ll find us on the ground floor, just keep walking right to the back of the building past the staircase. (We’ll have signs up on the day.)

Tickets:

There’ll still be some tickets available to purchase on the door at €12 per ticket. But if you’ve already paid at one of the meet ups or online then you will just need to register with us at the desk we’ll have set up on the day. Tickets of course are still available for purchase online here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bgicon-board-games-ireland-convention-tickets-34974998161

Raffle:
We’ll have a raffle on the day as well with a selection of prizes on offer. It’s €2 per strip of tickets or €5 for 3 strips.

Buy and Sell Table:

If you want to bring games to sell on the day we’ll have a table set up. Just talk to us at the registration desk and we’ll give you a label to put on your game that will list the price you’re looking for, your name and your phone number. Then if someone wants to purchase your game they can just drop you a text message on the day.  (If you’re not comfortable with listing your number like that then we can keep a record of it at our registration desk)

Game Library:

While you’re welcome to bring along your own games as normal like at the regular meet ups, we’ll also have a large selection of games available on the day. If you want to borrow any of them just tell us at the registration desk what you want and you can sign it out and then when you’re finished you can just sign it  back in. You can see the complete list of the game library HERE!

Podcast:

We’ll be recording content for our regular Board Games Ireland Podcast on the day. So if you’d like to talk about what games you’ve been playing at BGIcon then just seek out Frank or Gavin on the day and we’ll be more than happy to have a chat to you. You can listen to our previous podcasts here: http://boardgamesireland.com/category/podcast/

So that’s all I can think of for now. If you have any questions then please let me know. And if you can’t make it to BGIcon then remember Limerick’s Knavecon X is coming up on the 2nd of September and as usual a bunch of us will be heading down so watch out for details of carpooling opportunities coming soon.
